What is Microsoft Exchange?
Microsoft Exchange is similar to Office365. In simple terms, Exchange is responsible for sending and receiving emails to and from client computers. Exchange can be paired with any email client, though it is most commonly used in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook. Working entirely in-house, it does not provide the cloud features Office365 does.
What are the benefits?
As Microsoft Exchange is hosted on-premise, it's installed on your own hardware so you have full control of the configuration including where it's physically situated. Due to data being stored locally, Exchange is compared to be faster than other cloud based email systems and the on-going costs can be less with it NOT being subscription based.
